The Acme Engine Company was founded in 1900 by A. S. Bennett in Lansing, Michigan. Its industry was gas engines and pumping outfits and remained based out of Lansing, Michigan. It went defunct in 1918 due to material shortage during WWI. The Auto Body Company purchased the Acme plant and created the Taylor-Wilkie Company which continued building Acme engines for a short time.
