
The American Axe & Tool Company was founded on February 5, 1890 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania following a consolidation of fourteen American axe manufacturers. Its industry was axes and tools and its headquarters were in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania (1890-1890) and Glassport, Pennsylvania (1890-1921). In 1921, the firm was acquired by the Kelly Axe Manufacturing Company.
