The American Luxfer Prism Company was founded in October 1896 by James G. Pennycuick in Chicago, Illinois. Its industry was glass tiles and its headquarters remained in Chicago, Illinois. In 1920, the company merged with the American 3-Way Prism Company, forming the American 3 Way-Luxfer Prism Company.
