The American Scale Company was founded in 1895 in Kansas City, Missouri. Its industry was scales, vises, anvils, and jack screws and its headquarters remained in Kansas City, Missouri. In October 1953 the company was acquired by Cromb & Gagel, Inc. By October of 1961 the company plant shut down.
