
Bellas Hess & Company was founded in 1907 by Harry Bellas Hess in New York City, New York. Its industry was women's and children's clothing by mail-order and its place of operation were in New York City, New York (1907-1932) and Kansas City, Missouri (1932-1976). In April 1932 the firm was placed in equity receivership and was reorganized in July. The company filed for bankruptcy protection in October 1974 and went under by February 1976.
