The British American Oil Company, Ltd. was founded in 1906 by Albert L. Ellsworth in Toronto, Ontario. Its industry is oil and gas and its headquarters is in Calgary, Alberta. It merged with the Gulf Oil Corporation in 1956. It was acquired by the Chevron Corporation in 1985, which in turn, half was sold to Olympia & York. In 2001, it was acquired by Conoco, Inc.
