The Chaplin-Fulton Manufacturing Company was founded in 1832 (incorporated January 6, 1891) by Andrew Fulton in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Its industry was gas governors, regulators, and steam specialties (originally a brass foundry) and its headquarters remained in Pittsburgh (Neville), Pennsylvania. In 1884 a partnership was formed by Louis B. Fulton, Melchior B. Chaplin, and William M. Ralston, Chaplin-Fulton, Ltd., to take over the former business. The firm went of of business in 1963 and its assets were sold to the Rockwell Manufacturing Company.
