The Charles G. Allen Company was founded in April 1874 by Charles G. Allen in Barre, Massachusetts. Its industry was agricultural implements, metalworking machinery, and machine parts (currently drilling and tapping machinery) and its headquarters have remained in Barre, Massachusetts. The company was purchased by Peter B. Lothes in 1995 and by David E. Krupp, Gary A. Boudreau, and Charles R. Sargent in 2006.
