The Chess & Wymond Company was founded in 1877 (incorporated 1896) by William E. Chess and William S. Wymond in Louisville, Kentucky. Its industry was barrels and kegs and its headquarters remained in Louisville, Kentucky. The firm was acquired by Schenley Distilleries, Inc. in 1946. The plant shut down in 1982.
