The Chipman Chemical Company, Inc. was founded in 1917 by Ralph N. Chipman in Bound Brook, New Jersey. Its industry was chemicals and its headquarters remained in Bound Brook, New Jersey. It was acquired by the Bernuth, Lemeke Company in 1926 and by the Berako Company in 1940. In 1968, the company was acquired by Rhodia, Inc. and was merged into the firm.
