The Cincinnati Ball Crank Company was founded on July 12, 1906 by Thomas L. Pogue, Clifford Gren, James A. Forbes and Henry and Louis Wessel in Cincinnati, Ohio, taking over certain interests of the Schacht Manufacturing Company. Its industry is fluid dispensing equipment and its headquarters were in Cincinnati, Ohio (1906-1965), South Bend, Indiana (1965-1982) and Weaverville, North Carolina (1982-present).

The company was purchased by the Bell Intercontinental Corporation in 1962 and operated as a division of the Wheelabrator Corporation, a subsidiary of Bell. It was acquired by the General Chemical Group, Inc. in 1988 and became a subsidiary of GenTek, Inc. in 1999 when it spun off from General Chemical. In 2009 the company was acquired by the Linter North America Corporation, subsidiary of the Linter Investments Corporation.
