The Cockshutt Plow Company, Ltd. was founded in 1877 by James G. Cockshutt in Brantford, Ontario. Its industry was farm machinery and its headquarters remained in Brantford, Ontario. It was acquired by a British bank investment bank in 1958. In 1962, it was purchased by the White Motor Company. The Cockshutt name was phased out by the mid-1970s.
