The Construction Machinery Company, commonly referred to as CMC, was founded on August 15, 1905 by Alva B. Lovejoy and Charles L. Baldwin in Waterloo, Iowa. Before moving into its own plant in 1909, the company's products were manufactured by the Automatic Stone Company and Ferguson Brothers. Its industry was cement mixers, pumps and woodworking machines and its headquarters remained in Waterloo, Iowa. The company closed down in 2003.
