The Corn Products Refining Company was founded on February 7, 1906 by E. T. Bedford in New York City, New York following a consolidation of the New York Glucose Company, Corn Products Company and Warner Sugar Refining Company. Its industry is sweeteners, starches and ingredients and its headquarters were in New York City, New York (1902-1967), Englewood Cliffs, New Jersey (1967-1997) and Chicago (Westchester), Illinois (1997-present).
In 1959, the company merged with Best Foods, Inc. In 1997, the company spun off its corn refining business, retaining the Corn Products International name, while the remainder of the business was renamed Bestfoods.
