The Cream of Wheat Company was founded in 1893 by Emery Mapes and Frederic Clifford in Grand Forks, North Dakota. Its industry was food products and its headquarters were in Grand Forks, North Dakota (1893-1897) and Minneapolis, Minnesota (1897-1961). In 1961, the firm was acquired by the National Biscuit Company.
