The Cudahy Packing Company was founded in 1887 (reorganized in 1890 by Michael and Edward A. Cudahy) by Michael Cudahy and Philip D. Armour in Omaha, Nebraska. Its industry is meat packing and its headquarters were in Omaha, Nebraska (1887-1965) and Phoenix, Arizona (1965-present). The company was acquired by the General Host Company in 1968. In 1981, its meat packing business was sold to management and spun off as the Bar-S Foods Company. The Bar-S company was acquired by Sigma Alimentos, S.A. de C.V. in 2010.
