The Dover Corporation was founded in March 1925 by Peter J. Lunati in Memphis, Tennessee. It is a conglomerate based in Downers Grove, Illinois. In 1955, Dover was created as a division of Rotary Lift until splitting off later that year and purchasing Rotary, making it its first division.
