The Dunn Edge Tool Company was founded in January 1840 (incorporated 1856) by R. B. Dunn in outside Waterville, Maine. Its industry was scythe blades and edge tools and its headquarters were in Oakland, Maine. In 1921 the business was sold to the Seymour Manufacturing Company, who sold it to the North Wayne Tool Company in 1923. They operated the plant until 1967.
