
The Electric Auto-Lite Company was founded in 1907 by Artemus W. Fisher in South Bend, Indiana as the A. W. Fisher Company. He partnered with Clement O. Miniger in 1911, and the name of the firm was changed to Electric Auto-Lite and its place of operation moved to Toledo, Ohio. Its industry is spark plugs and ignition wire sets and its latest headquarters were in Lake Forest, Illinois. In July 1917, the Electric Auto-Lite Corporation was formed as a holding company. It was acquired by the Ford Motor Company in 1961, who sold it to the Bendix Corporation in 1973. Bendix became a part of AlliedSignal, Inc. in 1983, in which Auto-Lite was sold by Honeywell. Since 2011, it's been a brand under the FRAM Group.
