The Empire Automobile Tire Company was founded on January 17, 1906 by C. Edward Murray, Charles H. Baker, and A. Boyd Cornell in Trenton, New Jersey. Its industry was rubber tires and its headquarters remained in Trenton, New Jersey. In December 1912, the firm merged with the Empire Rubber Manufacturing Company, forming the Empire Rubber & Tire Company.
