The Endicott-Johnson Corporation was founded in 1903 by George F. Johnson and Henry B. Endicott as a successor to the Lestershire Manufacturing Company in Lestershire, New York. Its industry is shoes and its headquarters were in Endicott, New York (1903-1995) and Franklin, Tennessee (1995-present).

The company was acquired by the McDonough Company in 1970. In 1995 the company was separated from its shoe business after being acquired by US Industries, Inc. and again in 2000 by Citicorp Venture Capital Ltd., a subsidiary of Citigroup, Inc. In 2000, the Endicott-Johnson Corporation was dissolved and its assets sold. EJ Footwear was sold to Rocky Shoes & Boots, Inc. in 2004.
