The Federal-Mogul Corporation was founded in 1899 by J. H. Muzzy and Edward F. Lyon in Detroit, Michigan. Its industry is automotive and energy and its headquarters is in Southfield, Michigan (since 1966). The company merged with the Federal Bearing & Bushing Corporation in 1924. In 1965, it merged with Sterling Aluminum Products. In 2015, the company split into two sectors: Federal-Mogul Powertrain and Federal-Mogul Motorparts.
