The Chevrolet Motor Company was founded on November 3, 1911 by Louis J. Chevrolet and William C. Durant in Detroit, Michigan. Its industry is automotive and its current headquarters has remained in Detroit, Michigan. It is known today simply as Chevrolet and it has been a division of the General Motors Company since 1917.
