In 1990, Japonica Partners purchased the assets of Sunbeam after Allegheny declared bankruptcy and formed Sunbeam-Oster Co., Inc. as a successor. Sunbeam itself declared bankruptcy protection in 2001 and emerged back in 2002. It was acquired by the Jarden Corporation in 2005.
