The Packard Motor Car Company was founded in July 3, 1899 (incorporated September 10, 1900) by James W. Packard, William D. Packard and George L. Weiss in Warren, Ohio. Its industry was automotive and its headquarters were in Warren, Ohio (1899-1903) and Detroit, Michigan (1903-1954). In 1954 the company merged with the Studebaker Corporation, forming the Studebaker-Packard Corporation.
