The Packer Manufacturing Company, also known as the Packer's Tar Soap Company, was founded in 1869 by Daniel F. Packer in Mystic, Connecticut. Its industry was soap and its headquarters were in New York City, New York with its plant in Mystic, Connecticut. The company was acquired by Cooper-Tinsely Laboratories in 1965.

As of recent, the Packer's Pine Corporation has been manufacturing the original tar soap and shampoo formulas from Vernon Hills, Illinois and has been a subsidiary of Gideon Products, Inc. since 2005.
