The Ford Motor Company of Canada, Ltd. was founded on August 17, 1904 by Henry Ford and Gordon M. McGregor in Walkerville, Ontario. Initially, the company was 51% owned by the Ford Motor Company and was given rights to Ford patents and selling privileges to all parts of the British Empire, excluding Great Britain and Ireland. Its industry is automotive and its headquarters were in Walkerville (later Windsor), Ontario (1904-1953) and Oakville, Ontario (1953-present).
