
The Gilbert & Bennett Manufacturing Company was founded in 1818 by Benjamin Gilbert in Georgetown, Connecticut. Its industry was wire products and its headquarters were in Georgetown, Connecticut (1818-1989) and Toccoa, Georgia (1989-1994). In 1985, the company was acquired by a Kuwaiti management group and split into two firms: Gilbert & Bennett Manufacturing and Gilbert & Barnett Limited Partnership. The company filed for bankruptcy in 1994.
