The Glenmore Distilleries Company was founded in 1849 by Richard and Will Monarch outside of Owensboro, Kentucky. Its industry was distilling and its headquarters was in Owensboro, Kentucky. In 1898 the company went bankrupt and was acquired by James and Francis P. Thompson in 1901. The company was acquired by the St. James Gate Brewery in 1991 whom merged it with Schenley Industries to form United Distillers. Its headquarters was in Louisville, Kentucky for some point.
It acquired Yellowstone, Inc. in 1944.
