The Henry Weis Manufacturing Company was founded in 1876 by Henry Weis and William E. Zahner in Kansas City, Missouri. Its industry is toilet partitions (originally building materials) and its headquarters were in Kansas City, Missouri (1876-1916), Atchison, Kansas (1916-1926), Elkhart, Indiana (1926-1978), Detroit, Michigan (1978-1992), Wayne, Michigan (1992-2005) and Anaheim, California (2005-present).
The company was acquired by Steinite Laboratories in 1926 and moved to Elkhart. In 1954, the company was acquired by the Interoceanic Commodities Corporation and in 1963, the company was merged with three other divisions to form the Fabco Division. In November 1978, the company plant in Elkhart was closed down and its remaining assets sold to the Hough Manufacturing Corporation.
