Herman Behr & Company was founded on August 7, 1872 by Herman Behr in Brooklyn, New York. Its industry was sandpaper and abrasives and its headquarters remained in Brooklyn, New York. On May 13, 1928 the firm merged with the Manning Abrasive Company, forming the Behr-Manning Company.
