The Higgin Manufacturing Company was founded on November 2, 1897 by Henry Higgin in Newport, Kentucky. Its industry was weatherstripping and window screens and its headquarters remained in Newport, Kentucky. The company went into bankruptcy in 1935 and was purchased by Joseph H. Head in January 1937.

In 1942, the company's Newport plant was acquired by the Goodall Company. It was planned for the Higgin firm to move into smaller quarters and continue its manufacture of opaque shade and Venetian blinds, however no sources of the company past 1942 were found.
