Imperial Tobacco Group plc was founded in 1901 through the amalgamation of 13 British tobacco and cigarette companies in London, England. Its industry is tobacco and its headquarters is in Bristol, England. In 1902, Imperial and the American Tobacco Company formed a joint venture to form British American Tobacco.
