The Imperial Tobacco Company of Canada was founded on June 11th, 1908 by a merger between the Canadian interests of the American Tobacco Company in Montreal, Quebec. Its industry is cigarette manufacturing and its headquarters is in Montreal, Quebec. It was a subsidiary of Imasco from 1970 to 2000 until being acquired by its current owner the British American Tobacco company.
In 1899, it purchased a 80% stake in the Empire Tobacco Company.
