The International Mill & Timber Company, doing business as Sterling Homes, was founded in 1915 by Walter D. Young in Bay City, Michigan. Lumber was supplied by W. D. Young & Company, a lumber yard accompanying the International Mill plant. Its industry was prefabricated homes and its headquarters remained in Bay City, Michigan. Its last catalog was produced in 1971 and the firm shut down operations by 1974. The firm was officially dissolved in 1983.
