Knechtels, Ltd. was founded in 1867 by Daniel Knechtel in Hanover, Ontario. Its industry was furniture and its headquarters remained in Hanover, Ontario. The company closed in 1983 and its Hanover factory was demolished. In 2003, the site of the factory was redeveloped into a municipal park dedicated to Daniel Knechtel.
