Louisville Textiles, Inc. was founded in May 10, 1888 by John T. Taggart in Louisville, Kentucky. Its industry was textiles and its headquarters remained in Louisville, Kentucky. In 1930, the company merged with the Louisville Textile Company, forming Louisville Textiles, Inc. In 1954, the company was acquired by United Industrial Syndicate, Inc., an investment firm. In 1967 the company was phased out, and ex-employees formed Louisville Textile Weavers, Inc. The company ceased operations in 1983 and was dissolved by 1990.
