The Millers Falls Company was founded on December 6, 1863 by Levi J. Gunn and Charles H. Amidon in Greenfield, Massachusetts. Its industry is tools and its headquarters were in Greenfield, Massachusettts (1863-1868), Millers Falls, Massachusetts (1868-1946), Greenfield, Massachusetts (1946-1982) and Alpha, New Jersey (1982-present). In 1931, the firm merged with the Goodell-Pratt Company. It was acquired by the Ingersoll-Rand Company in 1962.

In 1982, it was sold to the newly-formed Miller Falls Tool Company. This firm was acquired by Ohio Tool Systems, Inc. in 1994 who sold it to the Lutz File & Tool Company in 1998. Production briefly moved to Cleveland, Ohio before the last remnant of the Millers Fall company shut down in 2003. Since 2002, the "Millers Falls Tool" trademark has been used by the Hangzhou Great Star Industrial Company.
