Morgan & Wright, also known as the Detroit Rubber Works, was founded in 1891 by Fred W. Morgan and Rufus Wright in Chicago, Illinois. Its industry was auto/bicycle tires and accessories and its headquarters were in Chicago, Illinois (1891-1905) and Detroit, Michigan (1905-1980). In 1911 Morgan & Wright was acquired by the newly-formed United States Tire Company, a marketing firm for the United States Rubber Company. The plant shut down in 1980.
