The New Haven Clock Company was founded on February 7, 1853 by Hiram Camp in New Haven, Connecticut as a supplier of clock movements for the Jerome Manufacturing Company. Its industry was watches and clocks and its headquarters were in New Haven, Connecticut (1853-1962) and New York City, New York (1962-1973). The Jerome Mfg. Co. went bankrupt in 1856, and New Haven began manufacturing its own clocks. In 1956 the company entered into bankruptcy and ceased operations by 1962. In 1961, Haven Industries was created as a subsidiary and a year later integrated the business of New Haven Clock & Watch. During its later years, Haven Industries was an investment firm.
