The Philip Carey Manufacturing Company was founded in 1873 (incorporated February 14, 1888) by Philip H. Carey in Cincinnati (Lockland), Ohio. Its industry was building materials and its headquarters remained in Lockland, Ohio. In 1967, the company merged with the Glen Alden Corporation and was reorganized as a new firm. It was merged into the Briggs Manufacturing Company in 1970, forming the Panacon Corporation.
