Philip Morris Industrial was founded on January 1, 1967 as a result of a corporate restructure of Philip Morris & Company creating three separate companies including Philip Morris International and Philip Morris Domestic under the parent company Philip Morris, Inc. Its industry is cigarette paper and its headquarters is in Richmond, Virginia (previously New York City, New York). In 1985 it was divested from Philip Morris. In 1992 it was acquired by Mundet International.
