The Platt Iron Works Company was founded in December 1892 following the consolidation of the Stilwell & Bierce Manufacturing Company and Smith & Vaile Company. Its industry was industrial pumps and caps for water wells and its headquarters were in Dayton, Ohio. It was sold to Sudbury Holdings, Inc. in 1986. The company shut down operations in 1992.
