The Polk Miller Drug Company, doing business as Sergeant's since 1888, was founded in 1871 by Polk Miller in Richmond, Virginia. Its industry is pet care products (originally drugs) and its headquarters were in Richmond, Virginia (1871-1968).

It was acquired by the A. H. Robins Company in 1967 and was merged with the Chap Stick Company in 1968, forming the Miller-Morton Company, which later became Pet Care Division. The division was purchased by ConAgra Foods, Inc. in 1989 and consolidated into its ConAgra Pet Products division. Its corporate offices were moved to Omaha, Nebraska. The business operations of Sergeant's was acquired by Sowell & Company in 2000 and incorporated as Sergeant's Pet Care Products, Inc. It was sold to the Perrigo Company in 2012 and was placed in its Perrigo Animal Health unit, which was acquired by PetIQ, Inc. in 2019.
