The Racine Tool & Machine Company was founded on November 9, 1906 by Edward W. Hoernel, Charles Rasmussen and Andrew Rasmussen in Racine, Wisconsin. Its industry was metal cutting machinery, hydraulic pumps and railway maintenance equipment and its headquarters remained in Racine, Wisconsin. In 1968, the company was merged into Rex Chainbelt, Inc. and was operated as a division until being purchased by the Dana Corporation in 1982. It was sold to the Robert Bosch Corporation in 1988. In 2001, the company merged with the Mannesmann Rexroth Corporation, forming the Bosch Rexroth Corporation.
