The Remington Typewriter Company was founded in 1886 following the acquisition of E. Remington & Sons typewriter business by Wyckoff, Seamans & Benedict. Its industry was typewriters and its headquarters were in Ilion, New York. It merged with the Rand Kardex Company in 1927, forming Remington Rand. In 1920, Remington acquired the adding machine business of the Wahl Company.
