Robert H. Ingersoll & Bro. was founded in 1881 by brothers Robert H. and Charles H. Ingersoll in New York City, New York. Its industry was watches (originally a mail-order house) and its headquarters remained in New York City, New York. In December 1921, the firm went into the hands of receivers and in March 1922 the assets were sold to the Waterbury Clock Company.
