The Ruud Manufacturing Company was founded in 1889 (incorporated 1897) by Edwin Ruud in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Its industry was water heaters and HVAC systems and its headquarters remained in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The company was acquired by the Rheem Manufacturing Company in 1959. The company was dissolved in 1964, however Ruud brand products are still manufactured by Rheem to this day.
