The Safety First Supply Company was founded on February 15, 1916 by H. B. Lacy and H. W. Dinker in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Its industry was safety devices and protective equipment and its headquarters remained in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
In 1969, the firm was reorganized under the newly-formed Safety First Industries, Inc., based in McKees Rocks, as a division. Sometime between 1982 and 1988 it was acquired by Safety Warehouse, Inc. of Pittsburgh. The firm filed for bankruptcy in August 1993 and its equipment was auctioned off by November 1993.
