The Upson Company was founded on June 7, 1910 by brothers Charles A. Upson and William H. Upson, Jr. in Lockport, New York. Its industry was wallboard and jigsaw puzzles and its headquarters remained in Lockport, New York. In 1971, the jigsaw puzzle business (Tuco Work Shops) was sold to the Monroe Game Company, and in 1980 acquired by Scott and John Fisher. The Upson Company filed for bankruptcy in 1980 and was sold to Domtar, Inc. in 1984.
